What is robotic self-storage and why do I need it?

Answer: This type of robotic retrieval system is a proven technology used in industrial facilities around the world and in automated car parks in Europe and Asia. The application of this technology in our self storage facility, combined with our high-tech security measures, enables you to store and retrieve your items in a very safe, efficient, quick and reliable manner. Only RoboVault clients will have authorized access into the private drive-in bay areas, where the robotic crane will deliver your storage unit directly and immediately to you and remove it when you are finished. RoboVault is specially designed to make your storage experience convenient, while protecting your privacy and protecting your valuables with the utmost care and security.  Typical access time is under 5 minutes.

How much weight can the robotic crane system lift?

Answer:  RoboVault had a 70-ton crane specially designed for our facility by Westfalia, a German crane manufacturer. Our crane is the largest, tallest and has the heaviest lifting capacity available for indoor use anywhere in the United States.  It can easily lift 16,000 pounds.

I’ve never used a biometric fingerprint scanner before. Why do you require this and what do you do with my fingerprint information?

Answer: The biometric fingerprint scan is one of the important security measures we use to ensure that only paying clients with proper security credentials can access certain areas of our building. When you come in to sign a lease, a member of our staff will take you into a private enrollment room and assist you with your fingerprint scan. This technology does not capture or store your actual fingerprint image.  It assigns a numbering system to specific points on your fingerprint, which is unique to you and recognizable by the system. All of our client information is stored offline to ensure complete protection of this private data.

Can I store a boat in your facility?

Answer: The largest flat surface storage unit available is 10’ x 20’ and is called a “pallet.”  These pallets can be used for vehicle storage.  It maybe possible for you to store a small boat on a trailer, if it does not exceed the weight and dimension requirements.

Would I be able to access my stored items anytime day or night?

Answer:  To maintain the highest level of security we allow client access to RoboVault during regular business hours:  Mon. through Fri. 9:00-5:30 and Sat. 9:00-5:00 or by appointment.

How does the robotic system handle wine storage?

Answer:  Our wine vault is designed to maintain the proper temperature and humidity levels to ensure the quality of your valuable wines collection.  The wine vault is in a separate area of the building which does not utilize the robotic system.  Lockers are individually alarmed.  Custom build-outs are available and clients may use our elegant wine tasting lounge.
